Christina and I love New Orleans and we want to give back to the community that has given us so much. That's why we started PHILanthropy, our own Phil's Grill charitable organization.
PHILanthropy began with the administration of our Artworks program. Artworks is a partnership between Phil's Grill and local artists to benefit Greater New Orleans area schools. The art on display in Phil's is for sale and 25% of the proceeds will be used to buy art supplies for area schools!
Besides Artworks, Phil's Grill provides donations in the form of gift certificates, gift baskets, sponsorships and food! Phil's supports local schools, organizations and benefits such as St. Rita School, Mount Carmel Academy, Lutheran High School, East Jefferson Warrior Baseball, WYES Channel 12, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The Downs Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans, City Park, The Wally Pontiff, Jr. Foundation and the Anthony Orlando Project.
Part of the reason behind opening my own restaurant was to help rebuild our city. My belief is that small businesses are at the heart of the rebuilding effort. There's so much to be done. We may not be able to support every organization, but we will try to help everyone we can in our own small way.
